Communique of PI4J and the Ministry of Justice
The following communique has been agreed between PI4J and the Ministry of Justice:
'A productive and informative workshop took place on 3 September where PI4J representatives, invited by MoJ, provided valuable insight on quality in the context of interpreter services in the justice sector. The feedback and points raised by PI4J during discussions, as well as those raised by other CJS partners, will inform the scope of the Independent Quality Assessment project.
MoJ has said that harnessing and utilising the knowledge provided by professional interpreter organisations will help them to better understand how best value for money could be achieved while providing an excellent quality of interpreting services to court users.
MoJ are now drafting the specification for the project and identifying the independent assessor/s to carry out the project.'
