The interpreter, for some reason, was cancelled
A man who was found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman at a Powys leisure centre has been told he will be sentenced later this month.
Emrah Orhan, 37, appeared at Swansea Crown Court from prison on Friday, November 15, but he could not be sentenced, because no interpreter was present.
Orhan had previously denied one count of sexual assault, but was found guilty at a trial in Swansea in September.
It was alleged he had intentionally touched a woman without her consent at Ystradgynlais Leisure Centre on August 5 last year.
The defendant, of Milton Terrace, Mount Pleasant, Swansea, had pleaded not guilty to sexual assault in April, but the jury at his trial found him guilty on September 19.
Currently on remand at HMP Parc in Bridgend, Orhan appeared via videolink at court on Friday, but Judge Catherine Richards told him the case could not proceed.
She said: “The interpreter, for some reason, was cancelled. We need an interpreter. We will have one on the next occasion and you will be sentenced on November 28.”
